About the Role

As a QA Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality of our applications by designing, implementing, and executing test strategies. You will be responsible for both manual testing (functional, regression, usability) and automation testing (UI, API, integration) across our diverse product ecosystem. You will work closely with developers, designers, and product managers to deliver a seamless user experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Manual Testing

  • Perform functional, regression, smoke, and exploratory testing across web applications (Vue.js, Next.js, Laravel, WordPress).
  • Test across multiple browsers, devices, and environments to ensure consistency.
  • Validate bug fixes and track issues to closure using project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, or similar).

Automation Testing

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for UI and API testing.
  • Implement and maintain test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, PHPUnit, Jest).
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar).

Collaboration & Quality Advocacy

  • Work closely with the development team to understand requirements, acceptance criteria, and technical designs.
  • Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives in an Agile environment.
  • Advocate for best practices in testing and contribute to continuous improvement.

Performance & Security Checks (Desirable)

  • Conduct basic load, performance, and security testing to ensure system reliability.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven experience as a QA Engineer in manual and automation testing.
  • Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Experience with frontend frameworks (Vue.js, Next.js) and backend technologies (Laravel, WordPress).
  • Hands-on experience with at least one automation framework/tool (e.g., Cypress, Selenium, Playwright, PHPUnit, Jest).
  • Solid understanding of REST APIs and ability to test APIs using tools like Postman or automated scripts.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git).
  • Strong debugging and analytical skills with attention to detail.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience in performance testing (e.g., JMeter, k6).
  • Knowledge of security testing basics.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, DigitalOcean) and containerization (Docker).
  • ISTQB or other QA certifications.

Status of the Job:

  • Work from Home
  • You are required to work parallel to office hours in the UK:
    • 01:30 PM to 10:30 PM
    • During daylight saving time: 12:30 PM to 09:30 PM
  • Weekends and UK bank holidays are off
